Gordon has led the Mace engineering group for eleven years as Chief Engineer, while maintaining a youthful enthusiasm in all things engineering and likes to remind his colleagues that the original “e” in the Mace acronym actually stands for engineering. Gordon joined Mace in 1996 and has an unsurpassed and in-depth knowledge in steel construction and craneage is unsurpassed. His opinions and experience is sought after in many professional body technical steering groups for UK and European design standards. This has been recognised by his Fellowship award to the Institution of Structural Engineers in 2009 and last year when he was elevated to Fellowship of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
